Mr. Turnbull-Summit High School

A.  Course Overview:  Low Impact Physical Education is designed as an alternative class to a regular P.E. class.   This class is not “an easy A” as many students might believe to be true.  We will have excellent workouts that develop strength, cardiovascular endurance and agility. 

B.  Grading:  Grading is participation based.  My expectation is that students signed up for class to earn a physical education credit.  My goal is to help initiate a love for movement for students. 

You will be graded on a percentage basis:     90% - 100%                A
                                                                        80% - 89%                  B
                                                                        70% - 79%                  C

**There are NO D or F grades allowed.  If you drop below a “C”, there will be an immediate conference with Mr. Turnbull and an administrator.  
                                                                                                                                               
C.  Rules and Procedures:

1.   Show up dressed and ready for activity each day. 
2.   Have a great attitude and make your best effort each day. 
3.   Respect the individuals around you.  We aren’t all athletes and we all have a different level of fitness.  

Consequences:

If you are not dressed for activity, you’ll receive a zero for the day.
If you have a poor attitude and your effort is poor, Turnbull will have a discussion with you. 
If you choose to be disrespectful, we will chat.  If it continues, you’ll be removed from the class.   This is an absolute rule and expectation.   Be kind, appreciate your classmates!

By signing up for this class, I understand that I will be expected to dress down every day and plan on vigorous activity.  I understand that this class is not a “walking” class.
